v3.0 "SpiritBlossom" May 18, 2026

MATE Desktop & ZPM Mega Update

System & Desktop:

  • Added MATE Desktop Environment as an alternative to Gnome. It is highly customized and integrated with Conky.
  • Kernel configurations updated for further performance improvements.
  • Fixed an issue where language settings were not automatically activated after system installation.
  • Added new high-quality wallpapers.

ZPM (Zen Package Manager) Overhaul:

  • Completely redesigned and rewritten from bash to Python3.
  • Added translation support for 12 different languages.
  • The user interface has been built entirely from scratch.
  • Added a desktop shortcut for easy access to the Zen Package Manager.
  • Huge list of new packages added: winehq, floorp, brave-beta, brave-nightly, brave-origin-beta, brave-origin-nightly, mullvad-browser-alpha, jellyfin, signal, teams-for-linux, mattermost, vencord, waydroid, rust, docker, vscodium, sublime-text, nvidia-docker, ardunio, r-project, temurbin, anydesk, claude, and virtualbox.
  • Removed librewolf due to extrepo repository issues.

New ZPM Tools & Features:

  • Zen AI: Manage local and online AI models with ollama, toolkit, apichat, and llmstore.
  • Zen Security: New tools including jails (Firejail manager), usbguard, checksum, and an NFTables-based firewall.
  • Zenthub: A brand new Python3 Rich CLI-based Flatpak software center.
  • Zen ZPT: A new apt frontend with a beautiful CLI UI and detailed messages.
  • Zen Settings: New utilities for language configuration and hostname changes.

Bug Fix & Driver Compatibility Update

Hardware & Drivers:

  • Resolved driver conflict issues introduced in the v2.5 update.
  • Fixed an issue where the Intel WIFI Driver was failing to initialize.
  • General system stability improvements and minor bug fixes.

Desktop Experience & Hardware Compatibility Update

User Interface & Experience:

  • Implemented several adjustments focused on enhancing the desktop user experience.
  • Added a real-time system resource monitor to the top panel, displaying CPU and memory usage status.

Hardware & Drivers:

  • Significantly expanded driver support for a wider range of hardware.
  • Improved overall hardware compatibility across various systems.

Debian 13.4 Compatibility & Installer Fixes

Core Improvements:

  • Resolved critical installer issues appearing with Debian 13.4.
  • Fixed the issue where the sudo command was missing in the installed system after using the System Installer.
  • Squashed several minor bugs in Zen Package Manager (ZPM) for a more reliable experience.
  • ZPM can now be invoked using both zen and zpm commands.

Unified Zen Package Manager (ZPM) & Visual Overhaul

Core Changes:

  • Transitioned from "Zenclora Commands" to the unified Zen Package Manager (ZPM).
  • Package installation, system management, and utility tools are now centralized under zpm.

Zen Package Manager (ZPM) Expansion:

  • Added support for external packages: librewolf, mullvad-browser, signal, mullvad-vpn, rust, docker, pacstall, nvidia-driver.
  • New bundle installs: gaming-pack, editor-pack, producer-pack, office-pack, dev-pack.
  • New System Management: optimize, mitigations, info, services, packages, logs, netfix, aptfix.
  • Integrated Utility Tools: formatusb, debinstaller, filemanager.
  • Added automatic Nvidia driver installation support.

System & Aesthetics:

  • Full visual redesign: Updated Login Screen, Plymouth, and Debian Installer themes.
  • Significant desktop changes for better usability and a more refined appearance.
  • Improved kernel-level optimizations; removed settings causing stuttering for a smoother experience.
  • Zenclora Fetch now displays the OS version and codename.
  • Website design completely rebuilt from the ground up.

New Commands:

  • Added install-lutris, install-gaming-utilities, install-snap, install-spotify, install-chrome, and cleanup.
